Mull und Partner Köln wins 2nd place in the state competition "Living and Working at Soest Station

As part of the North Rhine-Westphalian state initiative "Building Land by the Rail", residential building sites are to be identified and developed near the stops of regional and suburban trains. As a convincing example, a state urban planning competition was held for the areas in the immediate vicinity of Soest railway station that were formerly used for commercial purposes and on which new housing is to be built.

Mull und Partner, Cologne supported Jankowski Bürgener Architekten Stadtplaner PartmbB, Cologne and GTL Michael Triebswetter, Kassel with a special concept to solve the problem of contaminated sites with the aim of revitalising the urban wasteland at the public transport stop.

One of the urban planning tasks was to integrate a landscape structure required for the remediation of the contaminated site into the urban space and thus create open space qualities.

A total of 28 offices took part in the competition and submitted their proposal to the competition process.
