M&P prepares redevelopment concept for the former railway station site Hagen-Haspe

Railway station

WHAT-WE-DO: As part of a large-scale redevelopment project, the former railway station site in Hagen-Haspe is to be developed as a future commercial area. In the run-up to the construction measures, M&P Hagen was commissioned by Area52 GmbH from Ennepetal to carry out a valuation of contaminated sites and to prepare a remediation concept.

As early as 1999, M&P carried out a historical survey as well as a detailed investigation of the former operating and factory facilities on the site.

A subsequent commercial use of the approx. 40,000 square metre site is planned, in which the former station building is to be integrated into the new use. The first new production building is to be built in 2023.

After completion of the contaminated site assessment, a remediation concept was to be developed by M&P for the further planning of the site preparation as well as for the approval of planned soil relocations in the urban area of Hagen, which was developed in accordance with the requirements of the competent authority.

Through the development of the former railway station, Area52 GmbH plans to create 200 new jobs in an innovative industry from the field of ecological and sustainable vehicle care / household cleaning / natural cosmetics as well as the development of machine components using 3D printer technology.

More information on the building project can also be found in the article of the Westfalen Post from 17.10.2021
