Start in the Soil and Groundwater Protection Team in Hanover

Since 1 August, I - Fabian Probst - am now in the Soil Groundwater Protection team in Hanover. After I had already been able to get to know the site as a trainee for four months, the integration went smoothly. The transition from trainee to project employee was therefore an easy one.

In our field, we deal with the investigation and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater. My initial projects include historical investigations and orienting investigations, which involve "detective work" to find out where potential contamination may have occurred. These suspicions are then clarified through targeted individual sampling. The possible investigation methods are diverse and range from small ram drills to direct-push soundings to soil gas sampling. In the end, we use the results to create a three-dimensional picture of the damage, which we record in writing in an expert report.

As a trainee, I was able to learn a lot in various specialist areas at the M&P Group locations in Heidelberg, Leipzig and Hanover. For example, building ground investigations, building pollutants and waste declarations were topics I was able to deal with. Since the issues we deal with are often interdisciplinary, I assume that I will benefit from this knowledge for a long time to come. Many thanks to all those who have supported me along the way!

Now I am looking forward to my time in my new team and to many new challenges!
