More diversity in the heart of Bergedorf
Projektgesellschaft mbH Bergedorfer Tor (BETO) is building an important component for the urban future of Bergedorf on the site of the former post office in Hamburg Bergedorf. With its utilisation concept, the BERGEDORFER TOR sets new impulses for a contemporary and holistic urban development.
The neighbourhood is tailor-made for the needs of a changing society and creates a space in which different users can develop on an equal footing. The result is an interesting mix of residential and commercial uses with a focus on health and assisted living, among other things.
M&P is literally supporting BETO in laying the foundations for this project. As an expert for soil remediation and coordinator of all civil engineering work from the production of the excavation pit, the excavation and the disposal/recycling of the excavated material to the deep foundation and dewatering, M&P is significantly involved in all construction services up to the shell construction.
After the excavation pit shoring was very well advanced by the company Gollwitzer GmbH from Southern Germany, the excavation of the excavation pit could be carried out by the company August Ernst GmbH &Co.KG on schedule and quickly on an area of about 6,000 m². The excavated working level had to meet high standards so that the bored pile machine weighing approx. 120 t could move on it and install the deep foundation piles. In total, the company Kurt Fredrich Spezialtiefbau GmbH from Bremerhaven will install 580 foundation piles, the so-called full displacement bored piles system Fundex with lengths of 14 m on average, until the beginning of October 2020.
It is impressive to see how the steel 30 m high colossus mounted on crawler tracks precisely installs the full displacement bored piles in several work steps with centimetre accuracy and how the founding team of the company Kurt Fredrich Spezialtiefbau GmbH quickly produces one deep foundation pile after the other. When the drill pipe is pulled, concrete is poured into the tubular cavity in one operation and the adapted ring-shaped steel reinforcement is inserted in parallel so that the piles for the deep foundation can be produced in accordance with the static requirements. The complete base of the underground car park for construction sites 2, 3 and 4 will later rest on the drilled piles.
Another prerequisite for a safe construction process is a functioning and safe dewatering system. Here, too, M&P accompanies the work and coordinates it with the other trades. More information on the page http://www.bergedorfer-tor.com
