What makes you a colleague?

"I am committed, helpful and enjoy what I do."

What is the challenge of your job at M&P?

"Every day I deal with different people and equally different backgrounds: Site managers, excavator drivers, clerks at authorities, architects, laboratory managers and so on.
Often the challenge is to reconcile the many different points of view and levels of knowledge of these people and find solutions where everyone is on board."

What motivates you to enjoy going to work every day?

"When I can see and experience progress, it motivates me to do my best every day. Fortunately, you can see this quite vividly in most of the projects I am involved with: The project planning becomes more and more complete, the excavation larger and larger, the soil samples more and more numerous. Of course, it also happens that a project gets stuck, but then it is wonderful to know that a great team is behind you, that you can ask for support at any time and that you will get it. The team spirit is really something special.

You are new to our leadership development programme. What do you hope to gain from the programme?

"A proverbial look beyond one's own nose is what I would like to get out of the programme. I would like to find out what diverse areas are covered at other M&P Group locations, how work is done there and what you can perhaps learn from there. Or the other way around, what you could transfer from the experiences at your own location."

Why is it great to study (applied) geosciences?

"Anyone with an interest in understanding the earth system and all the processes associated with it will have a lot of fun with the degree programme. It is incredibly diverse, offers the opportunity to go in a wide variety of directions and manages to combine work at the desk with work in the field, which for me is the special attraction of the professional field of geoscientists."
