Welcome to the team ... geologist Carolin Hoffmann!
Carolin studied geology at the Free University of Berlin and specialised in hydrogeology, with a focus on hydrochemistry, during her studies.
During an internship at the Geoforschungszentrum Potsdam, she was able to gain valuable practical experience in the field of hydrology. She worked on groundwater-seawater interaction in the Mecklenburg Lake District to explore possible causes for falling lake water levels.
As a working student, Carolin deepened her expertise in the field of agricultural field irrigation and worked on a wide variety of geoecological issues such as environmental impact assessment.
In her master's thesis, she worked on column experiments to identify hydrogeochemical processes in the groundwater fluctuation range and researched possible causes for increased sulphate concentrations in groundwater.
Since the beginning of January, Carolin has been supporting the team at the Berlin branch as a project manager.
