Historians wanted!
More than 400 employees work in the M&P Group on the vision for a better future in the areas of construction and sustainable urban development, environment and climate protection, water and renewable energies. At M&P Ingenieurgesellschaft Gruppe Nord, more than 100 employees are currently working on projects in the fields of environmental engineering and water management at the Hanover, Hamburg and Osnabrück sites. Core competences are services in land development (land recycling, subsoil investigation and deconstruction), in the development of concepts for the remediation of contaminated sites as well as for the investigation of abandoned military sites and the clearance of explosive ordnance.
M&P Ingenieurgesellschaft Hannover is looking for the following as soon as possible a historian (m/f/d) at the Hanover location.
Tasks include:
- Planning and conducting archival research in national and international archives
- Elaboration of report parts on military-historical questions in the context of projects based on natural and engineering sciences
- Further development of the corporate archive of historical sources
- Advising project teams with strategies for clarifying military history issues
- Maintaining contacts and advising public clients
What you should bring with you:
- Completed studies in history or geography
- Historical military knowledge (especially history of the two world wars)
- Military courses of action since approx. 1910 until today
- Experience in dealing with archival sources (e.g. provenance principle)
- Preparation of expert reports
- Knowledge in the application of databases and geographical information systems or the willingness to deal with these topics from the user's point of view desirable
