Our new colleague - Dr Alena Ebinghaus
Today, the M&P welcomes Dr Alena Ebinghaus to the team in Hagen:
Dr Alena Ebinghaus studied geology and palaeontology with a focus on sedimentology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn and graduated in 2010. During her studies, she also gained practical experience in the field of soil investigation at the Geotechnical Office Dr. Leischner GmbH in Bonn.
She completed her PhD in geology at the University of Aberdeen (UK) in 2014. During her PhD and subsequent postdoctoral research (also at the University of Aberdeen), she focused on the study of former river systems and their soil development, taking into account geological, ecological and climatic aspects at various locations in the USA (Washington State, Idaho, Wyoming) and Europe (Ukraine, France).
Her scientific activities have been enriched by teaching within applied geology and by applied geological work for Tullow Oil PLC. for whom she was an external technical consultant for petroleum exploration in Kenya in 2016.
In this respect, Dr Ebinghaus is already expanding the team in Hagen with multiple experiences and broad knowledge from environmental geology and geochemistry.
