M&P Heidelberg: Potentially hazardous waste? MuP Umwelttechnik assesses and supports disposal according to eANV

Engineering for a better tomorrow: eANV stands for electronic waste verification procedure and refers to the method, which has been mandatory by law since 2010, with which hazardous waste in Germany is recorded and monitored by the authorities from its generation to its transport and disposal.

As an expert office, MuP Umwelttechnik takes over the characterisation of the waste through sampling, examination and classification in accordance with regulations and compiles the verification documents such as sampling protocols, laboratory reports and the classification into a landfill class.

If the waste turns out to be hazardous, the journey of the documents through the eANV begins. Various software programmes requiring a licence or the free ZKS system are available for this purpose.

After a suitable landfill has been identified according to the landfill class of the waste and all waste characterising documents with a binding quantity specification have been entered into the system, the disposal permit is applied for. After this intermediate stop, the landfill forwards the application to the competent authority, which issues the disposal permit after checking the application and the documents for completeness and compliance.

And this brings the documents to the final stage: The waste producer commissions a transport company authorised for this purpose and creates the transport consignment notes via the programme. The quantity of the load is entered together with the vehicle registration number and checked by weighing on arrival at the landfill. The destination is reached as soon as the waste is completely accepted by the landfill, registered and the consignment notes recorded in the system are sent to the producer.
