The solution to reduce the climate and environmental impact of waste: circular economy.

The construction industry 🏗 plays an important role in combating the waste of resources. For example, approx. 55% of all waste produced annually in Germany is construction and demolition waste. Added to this is the alteration of natural soils and increasing soil sealing. In one month, about 1600 hectares - the equivalent of over 2,000 football fields - are newly designated for sealing. There is also a lot of potential for improvement in construction in terms of global CO2 emissions, e.g. from concrete, steel and cement. For example, the NGO @World Green Building Council estimates that 40% of global emissions are attributable to the construction sector.

The solution to reduce climate and environmental impacts: circular economy. There is more to it than conventional recycling ♻️. The principle of reducing ❎, recycling 🔁 and only finally recycling creates completely new challenges, but also opportunities for innovation. The circular economy is the counter-model to the established "throwaway society". Materials and products are reduced from the outset, shared for as long as possible, reused, repaired and recycled. Ideally, materials are reprocessed so that they are available again in the same quality as new material.

For example, the #DGNB certification 📃sets in precisely here: the entire life cycle of private construction projects from new buildings to existing buildings are taken into account. The M&P Group is happy to actively support you in improving the sustainability of your company, e.g. through an ESG score or DGNB certification.
